Was ist eigentlich eine CAM Fotosynthese?<\/span><\/p>\n

Die C3-Fotosynthese ist die \u00e4lteste Art der CO\u2082-Bindung in der Erdgeschichte und immer noch die am weitesten verbreitete.
\n90 % der Pflanzen nutzen Licht, Wasser und Kohlendioxid, um Zucker und Sauerstoff zu produzieren.<\/span><\/p>\n

Da dieser Prozess viel Wasser ben\u00f6tigt, mussten sich Sukkulenten etwas Neues einfallen lassen, den CAM-Zyklus.<\/span><\/p>\n

In einem Schnitt durch einen Kaktus, sieht man deutlich die gr\u00fcnen Chloroplasten am Rand, die f\u00fcr die Fotosynthese genutzt werden. Dar\u00fcber befindet sich die Epidermis, in der sich kleine Spalt\u00f6ffnungen (Ventile oder Stomata) befinden, die f\u00fcr den Gasaustausch zust\u00e4ndig sind.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Die Fotosynthese findet am Rande im gr\u00fcnen Bereich (Chloroplasten) statt, also unter der Epidermis (Oberhaut).<\/span><\/p>\n

In der wachsartigen Epidermis befinden sich Spalt\u00f6ffnungen (Stomata), durch die CO\u2082 absorbiert wird.<\/span><\/p>\n

Diese sogenannten Spalt\u00f6ffnungen k\u00f6nnen auch geschlossen werden, um Wasserverluste zu verhindern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beim CAM-Zyklus der Kakteen handelt es sich um eine zeitliche Trennung der Fotosynthese, um den Wasserverlust zu minimieren.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nachts, wenn es nicht mehr so warm ist, werden die Stomata ge\u00f6ffnet, damit Kohlendioxid (CO\u2082)\u00a0 aufgenommen werden kann.<\/span><\/p>\n

Da aber nachts ohne das Sonnenlicht keine Fotosynthese stattfindet, wird das CO\u2082 in Apfels\u00e4ure (Malate) umgewandelt und gespeichert.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tags\u00fcber, wenn es warm ist, sind die Spalt\u00f6ffnungen geschlossen, damit kein Wasser verdunstet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Die gespeicherte Apfels\u00e4ure wird wieder in CO\u2082 umgewandelt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Und der Prozess der Fotosynthese kann beginnen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wenn Du das ausprobieren willst, bei\u00df morgens und abends in einen Kaktus,<\/span><\/p>\n

Du wirst feststellen, dass er am Morgen sauer und am Abend eher s\u00fc\u00df schmeckt.<\/span><\/p>\n
