In den meisten Sammlungen steht er noch unter dem Namen Echinofossulocactus albatus (als ewig unbelehrbarer, schlie\u00dflich wurde dieser Namen 70 Jahre benutzt, auch in meinem Gew\u00e4chshaus) aber die neue Nomenklatur\u00a0 schreibt vor, ihn Stenocactus albatus zu nennen. F\u00fcr Echinofossulocactus stellte Lawrence 1831 keine Typusart auf, somit sind alle anderen Arten die dieser Gattung zugeordnet wurden, nach den nomenklatorischen Grundregeln falsch benannt. Andere Synonyme sind Stenocactus vaupelianus oder auch Stenocactus rectispinus.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_387\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-387\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaktusmichel.de\/Kaktusnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Stenocactus-albatus.gif\" rel=\"lightbox[386]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-387\" alt=\"Stenocactus albatus in Bl\u00fcte\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kaktusmichel.de\/Kaktusnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Stenocactus-albatus.gif\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-387\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stenocactus albatus in Bl\u00fcte<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Erstbeschrieben wurde die Pflanze als Echinocactus vaupelianus im Jahre 1931 durch Erich Werdermann und Frederik Markus Knuth sie plazierten die Art vaupelianus in die Gattung Stenocactus. Eine Umkombination in die Gattung Echinofossulocactus erfolgte 1938 durch Ernst Tiegel und Hans Oehme. Nigel Paul Taylor stellte die Art 1980 zu den Ferocacteen, diese Zuordnung setzte sich jedoch nicht durch.<br \/>\nDer Name Stenocactus kommt aus dem griechischen und hei\u00dft eng oder schmal, in Bezug auf die enggestellten Rippen der Gattung.<br \/>\nSeine Heimat ist Mexico (Hidalgo).<br \/>\nDie Vermehrung erfolgt aus Samen, da die Pflanzen kaum Sprossen.<br \/>\nDie Pflege ist recht einfach man sollte nur eine Mindesttemperatur von 3 Grad einhalten.<br \/>\nStenocacteen werden gerne von Wolll\u00e4usen befallen, durch die engen Rippen und die starke Bewollung finden diese Sch\u00e4dlinge ein gutes Versteck.
